SUS 304L is a low-carbon version of SUS 304 stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and weldability. Its grade is usually 00Cr19Ni10 (or 0Cr18Ni10).

Excellent corrosion resistance: SUS304L stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion from most organic and inorganic chemicals, such as acids, alkalis, etc. Its low carbon content reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion, allowing it to maintain good corrosion resistance in welded parts. Therefore, for applications that require operation at high temperatures for extended periods of time, it may be necessary to select materials that are more resistant to high temperatures.
Average wear resistance: Compared with some other types of steel, the wear resistance of SUS304L may not be optimal. In applications that require frequent friction or are subject to abrasion, more wear-resistant materials or additional protective measures may need to be considered.
Sensitivity to chlorides: Although SUS304L has good corrosion resistance to many chemicals, stress corrosion cracking may occur in environments containing chlorides, especially at high temperatures. Therefore, special care is required when using it in this environment.
Higher cost: Compared with some other common steel materials, the manufacturing cost of SUS304L stainless steel may be higher. This can increase the overall cost of the product and requires trade-offs during the design and manufacturing process.
It should be noted that the above shortcomings will not be manifested in all cases, but are related to factors such as specific application scenarios, environmental conditions, and usage methods.
