Manufacturing process of SM400C steel plate

The main manufacturing process of SM400C steel plate involves multiple key steps to ensure the quality and performance of the steel plate. The following is the main manufacturing process of SM400C steel plate: Steelmaking: First, raw materials are converted into liquid steel through the steelmaking process. This usually involves the process of blast furnace ironmaking and converter steelmaking, ensuring that the purity and chemical composition of the molten steel meet the requirements of SM400C. Continuous casting: Liquid steel is continuously cast through a continuous casting machine to form a steel billet. The continuous casting process efficiently produces steel plates with a uniform microstructure. Hot rolling: After the steel billet is heated, it is rolled through a hot rolling mill. The hot rolling process can make the steel plate obtain the required thickness and width, improve its internal structure and improve its mechanical properties. Cooling and straightening: The hot-rolled steel plate is cooled and straightened by a straightening machine to eliminate unevenness and bending of the plate surface. Shearing and Cutting: Steel plates are sheared and cut as needed to meet different length and width requirements. Flaw detection and inspection: Conduct flaw detection on the steel plate to check whether there are any internal defects. At the same time, the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the steel plates are inspected to ensure that they meet the standard requirements of SM400C. Heat treatment (if necessary): For some specific uses of SM400C steel plates, heat treatment, such as quenching and tempering, may be required to adjust its mechanical properties and organizational structure. Surface treatment and painting (if necessary): According to customer needs, the steel plate may require surface treatment, such as sandblasting, shot blasting, etc., to improve the surface quality. In some cases, it may also be painted to increase the corrosion resistance of the steel plate.
