NM450 steel processing and forming

NM450 is a high-performance, wear-resistant steel grade that is commonly used in applications where resistance to abrasion is critical. The "NM" in NM450 stands for "nitriding metal", and the number "450" refers to the hardness of the steel (approximately 450 HB). This steel is designed for heavy-duty use in mining, construction, and material handling industries.

Processing and Forming:

NM450 steel has good weldability and formability, though pre-heating is typically required for thick plates to avoid cracking during welding. It can be cut, welded, and processed with standard industrial equipment.
The heat treatment is not recommended for NM450 as it is already in the hardened state when delivered.
Benefits:

High wear and abrasion resistance at high temperatures.
Increased service life of machinery and components exposed to harsh environments.
Reduces maintenance costs due to its durable nature.
Enhances operational efficiency by prolonging the lifespan of parts.
Thickness Range:

NM450 steel are available in thicknesses typically ranging from 4mm to 100mm, with some suppliers offering custom thicknesses based on customer requirements.
